It is an odd task to write a newsletter about my own wedding - Or, shall I say "our" wedding! Chris Ahern and I were married on July 15th in Charleston, and I am now Mrs. Ahern! I will get sappy writing about our marriage, so I will spare you from reliving all of the happy tears I shed that day and give only the fun details!

Similarly to my older sisters, I too wore my mother's cotton lace wedding dress. As my "something old," the dress added more than beauty to the wedding. Putting it on I was engulfed in the warmth of the other women who had worn it. I felt a sense of comfort and support knowing that this dress witnessed the three happy marriages in my family.

The Rivercity Dixieland Jazz Band was a major element of the wedding as well. We grew up in a house filled with the melodic voices of Louis Armstrong and Louis Prima crooning to us. Therefore, hiring this band was the easiest decision I made regarding the wedding - I knew I had to have Dixieland music! The music also added my native New Orleans flavor to the Charleston wedding. (Good thing Chris likes it too!)

Naturally, Felice made all of the jewelry for the wedding! She made one especially for me that was green and white to match the sash on my dress. The next day her store was flooded by wedding guests who had to have one of their own.

The whole wedding and reception felt like ten minutes long, and we wish it could have lasted all night! But what resulted from that night will last forever.
