June 2005
A star was born in 1985 when Felice tried out for her first school play, Annie. Although only 10 at the time, she loved the spotlight, the singing, and the soft shoe. Little did she know this would turn into a continuous theme in her life. She went on to steal the show in plays ranging from Bye Bye Birdie to Anything Goes. Yet, after high school she stopped performing... However, her inner dancing diva never burned out. Last year when challenged by her trainer to find a work out that she enjoyed, Felice instantly knew...dance! She and Liza signed up for tap class, and soon it became a major event in their lives. Class was once a week, but they practiced every day at work as well! Felice and Liza's new passion culminated in a recital downtown at the Gailliard. They danced with the five other members of their class to Peggy Lee's Fever. As if they were born to wear the red crushed velvet costumes, these girls lit up the stage and danced with their class in perfect synchronization. Like all recitals, this one too had a program filled with pictures and words of encouragement. Following is Felice's poem to her tapping buddies: Tapping Tulips Love - Felice |
