Mardi Gras in New Orleans is unlike any other experience.  Whether one enjoys the catching or throwing of doubloons, the parades or just the entire celebration of the Mardi Gras moment, "Fat Tuesday" is fun!  Growing up surrounded by the Mardi Gras festivities every year, the Viguerie family knows this New Orleans tradition all too well!

It looks as though Kathleen and Felice caught their share of beads!  The colors of Mardi Gras are: purple, green and gold, all of which symbolize something greater.  Purple stands for justice, green represents faith, while gold means power.  The colorful necklaces and costumes are a large part of this huge celebration.

Felice and Hume attended the Proteus luncheon before leaving New Orleans.  Proteus is a Krewe, one of the private organizations responsible for planning the parades and balls, in honor of Mardi Gras.  They dined, drank and enjoyed taking part in the Proteus tradition!

Felice and Hume returned to Charleston after a weekend full of Mardi Gras!  Liza and I took care of things at Felice Designs while they were gone.  We look forward to the spring months ahead with plenty of warm weather and sunshine.  Come by the store and see some of our new spring beads!  All of the lavish colors that make Mardi Gras a spectacle gave Felice new inspiration for her beaded creations.  The colors are beautiful!  Hope to see you soon.
