Here at Felice Designs we can get impulsive, especially when it comes to our sister Kathleen getting married. Three weeks ago Felice, Kathleen, and I decided to go to South Beach in honor of the upcoming wedding. Not realizing we were booking tickets to go the weekend of MTV's Video Music Awards, we scrambled around for a hotel room on the beach.

But once that was set we focused on the most important issue: What are we going to wear to fit in with the models and movie stars we will hobnob with? Obviously we brought all of the largest and coolest Felice Designs jewelry. Who knows who we will see... Well, we were right! Our list of celebrity sightings is long and exciting.

But, we never approached any of them. The only people we really talked to were fellow, regular, non-famous people. And looking back I know the celebrities we saw are normal people too. But it is jarring to see someone like Jessica Simpson in real life.

And if she did wear our jewelry, she has the power to make it a house-hold name! Perhaps we will just have to wait until a celeb graces our stoop at 424 King St.! In the meantime we met wonderful people from all over the world as well as funny chihuahuas (see left).

When we weren't tracking down Diana Ross or Xhibit, we were just hanging out together enjoying the sights, food, beach, and nightlife. Have you ever eaten in bed? In South Beach there is a posh restaurant that requires it! Bed is the name of the restaurant we went to Friday night where we got to take off our shoes and recline against puffy pillows while dining. Needless to say, the bride had a great time in Miami!

We were lucky to escape any hurricanes during this tumultuous time of year. All of those whose lives have been interrupted by these summer squalls are in our thoughts and prayers. Come visit Charleston in about a month and we should be finished worrying about hurricanes!
